  Course Description:Covers local & national building and fire codes and their application in developing projects with concern for the health, safety and welfare of the public. Understanding and illustrating interior building materials and specifications, interior details and section drawings for custom elements through construction documentation will also be covered.

 Understand the use and application of federal and local building codes and fire code publications as they pertain to Residential and Commercial design projects.
 II.     Understand ADA compliance and Universal Design as they pertain to Residential and Commercial Design projects.
 III.    Produce detail drawings for various custom design elements to include selection, application and specification of finishes and materials.
 IV.   Understand and create complete interior finish and material specifications related to Residential and Commercial design projects.

 A. Study and learn standards and regulations for Universal Design and ADA pertaining to Residential and Commercial design projects

         A.      Study appropriate application of interior finishes and materials based on various design projects and building code regulations
         B.      Study appropriate application of furnishings, textiles and equipment based on various design projects and building code regulations
         C.      Study and research environmental options for finishes, furnishings, textiles and equipment
         D.      Study and create complete interior finish and material specifications
 IV.     Custom Designed Interior Elements
 A. Create custom built items through sketches and technical drawings
 B. Develop complete finish and material specifications
