  Course Description:Prepare for the industry by refining presentation skills and completing a portfolio for employment. Students learn to manipulate software renderings, hand-drafted renderings, model building, interior finish presentation boards to develop a digital and hard-copy portfolio for selling design through presentation. The students will learn various techniques for time management and time-saving skills for graphic communication.

 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 1. Evaluate and apply professional standards for presentations
 2. Create interior finish boards for furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) using real samples
 3. Develop renderings from CAD perspectives to learn time-saving practices.
 4. Demonstrate 3 dimensional understanding of architectural features and furniture through the building of 3-D models utilize orthographic drawings to articulate the constructability of the FF&E.
 5. Develop a hard-copy and digital copy of student portfolio.
 


 TOPICAL OUTLINE:
 
 I. Evaluate and apply professional standards for presentations
 a. Develop skills for presentation of Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents.
 b. Learn to organize a presentation graphically
 c. Learn how to dress and communicate verbally
 
 II. Create interior finish boards for furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) using real samples
 a. Develop skills to construct  material boards, gluing, backing, labeling and scale for interior finish boards, mock-up 3D models
 b. Learn how to sample order, protocol and delivery of samples:  challenges and problems when you encounter sampling from manufacturing
 
 III. Develop renderings from CAD perspectives to learn time-saving practices.
 a. Develop perspectives from CAD software from all studio projects
 b. Develop rendering techniques for time-saving skills
 c. Apply media and image manipulation
 
 IV.   Demonstrate 3 dimensional understanding of architectural features and furniture through the building of 3-D models utilize orthographic drawings to articulate the constructability of the FF&E.
 a. Understand and apply materials used for 3-D models
 b. Learn precision model development
 c. Develop working drawing for shop drawings
 d. Understand systems furniture and specifications
 
 V. Develop a hard-copy and digital copy of student portfolio.
 a. Understand portfolio selection and organization
