  Course Description:Provides an introduction to Kitchen and Bath Design, applying NKBA guidelines. Students are introduced to an overview of Interior Design principles as they apply to Kitchen and Bath design. One portfolio project is produced using hand-drafting skills. Students are encouraged to produce the project using skills attained in this course.

 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 I. Understand the principles and elements of interior design.
 II. Understand the fundamentals of kitchen and bath design.
 III. Understand the basics of space planning.
 IV. Become familiar with graphic presentation skills.
 V. Understand attributes of finish materials that are used in kitchen and bath design.
 VI. Identify major historical periods, become familiar with design styles and motifs from those periods.
