Course Description: | Teaches how to assist clients in selection of art, antiques and accessories to aid in defining the character of the space. Styles and the eclectic mix of styles are covered, as well as placement and effective use of items. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Program a client`s accessory and art requirements/desires (I-IV)
II. Identify areas and surfaces that need accessorizing/art and places where accessories/art can be used (I-IV)
III. Identify and understand accessories and art within historical context and periods (I-IV)
IV. Understand the role played by accessories and art in determining mood and design character of a space and in solving design problems (I-IV)
V. Discuss the different kinds of accessories available in the marketplace (I-IV)
VI. Design and document an Accessories package for various project types and special events (I-IV)
VII. Identify and use sources for accessories and art (shops, showrooms, galleries, studios) (I-IV)
VIII. Specify and estimate accessories and art and provide documentation for custom and commissioned work (I-IV)
