  Course Description:Introduces the design process, fundamental skills, principles and theories related to the interior environment. The course will have a focus on spatial awareness, color, environmental issues and the elements of design while having the student become familiar with the creative process and establishing a basic understanding for design aesthetics. The course provides a foundation for future coursework.

 II.     Elements of Design
         A.      Introduce light, color, space, line, form, and texture
         B.      Provide exercises and discussions
 III.    Principles of Design
         A.      Use balance, rhythm, emphasis, scale, proportion, harmony in the design process
         B.      Provide exercises and discussion
 IV.    Color, Environment and Human Response
         A.      Discuss and use characteristics and effects of major hues
