In addition, the student will be expected to become knowledgeable about liability issues and the promotion and marketing of fitness programs. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
1. Understand the benefits and risks associated with exercise.
2. Conduct health screenings and risk stratification.
3. Understand and successfully conduct pre-test evaluations.
4. Demonstrate knowledge of physical fitness testing.
5. Demonstrate knowledge of clinical Exercise Testing.
6. Demonstrate knowledge of accurate interpretation of testing data.
7. Understand general principles of exercise prescription.
8. Demonstrate knowledge with exercise prescription for cardiac and pulmonary patients.
9. Understand other clinical conditions influencing exercise prescription.
10. Demonstrate knowledge of exercise testing and prescription for children, the elderly and pregnancy.
11. Conduct, interpret and prescribe exercise program based on metabolic testing.
