STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
1. Describe basic nutritional concepts and the role of energy production and expenditure.
2. Explain the basic concepts of body composition.
3. Compare and contrast methods available that directly and indirectly measure components of the human body.
4. Explain how to use body composition measurements toward training, diet and exercise.
5. Perform body composition tests.
6. Analyze weight gain and weight loss programs using diet and exercise.
7. Define the basic principles of exercise including aerobic, anaerobic, flexibility and resistant training.
8. Demonstrate the use course material to make appropriate decisions towards training and performance.
