STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
1. Understand the concept of energy metabolism and the role of exercise on metabolic rate.
2. Describe the impact of physical activity and exercise on weight management and health.
3. Identify and implement lifestyle modifications to promote weight maintenance and health.
4. Examine the relationship between sleep and weight.
5. Collect and assess personal level of fitness and anthropometric data, comparing both to standard reference values.
6. Analyze best practices and recommendations for personal exercise needs and goals towards weight management.
7. Establish and implement a personalized exercise plan.
8. Evaluate the validity of diets in meeting weight management goals including diets for specific health conditions and fad diets.
9. Identify signs and symptoms of extreme diets, eating disorders and related illnesses.
