The course studies the different types of furnaces, code requirements, common controls and mechanical problems. STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Evaluate, maintain, repair and replace several types of forced air furnaces
II. Choose, install and repair accessory devices
III. Analyze the regulations of the mechanical code applicable to forced air systems
IV. Assess furnace control problems and complete necessary repairs
V. Recommend and practice acceptable customer service skills
