 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 I.      Explain the logical sequence of steps for the systematic troubleshooting of a problem with a domestic refrigerator
 II.     Explain how to determine if the problem is electrical or mechanical
 III.    Diagnose and repair mechanical problems on a sealed system
 IV.     Diagnose and repair electrical problems on a domestic refrigerator
 V.      Prior to beginning work, ask the customer to explain the problem(s) with the refrigerator
 VI.     Explain to the customer how he/she intends to proceed with the diagnosis and how he/she will arrive at the estimated cost for the job
 VII.    Upon completion of the job, briefly explain to the customer what the problem was and what was necessary to make the repairs prior to presenting the bill.
 VIII.   Explain the logical sequence of steps for the systematic troubleshooting of a problem with a window air conditioner
 IX.     Diagnose and repair a mechanical problem with a window air conditioning unit.
 X       Check for adequate refrigerant in a sealed unit without tapping into the sealed system.
 XI.     Access a sealed system and check operating pressures
 XII.    Diagnose and repair an electrical problem on a window air conditioning unit.
 XIII.   Before beginning work, ask the customer to explain the problem(s) with the air conditioner
 XIV.    Explain to the customer how he/she intends to proceed with the diagnosis and how he/she will arrive at the estimated cost for the job
 XV.     Upon completion of the job, briefly explain to the customer what the problem was and what was necessary to make the repairs prior to presenting the bill.
 XVI.    Explain the logical sequence of steps for the systematic troubleshooting of a problem with a domestic air conditioner

 XXVII.  Diagnose a malfunction on a commercial walk-in unit
