         A.      Gain knowledge of various methods of film criticism.
         B.      Understand how different critical approaches are determined by the purpose and function of the criticism.
         C.      Apply various methods of film criticism through discussion and written analysis of films to make the study as an art form more comprehensible and meaningful.
         D.      Evaluate films according to criteria determined by these critical approaches.
