STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Identify three general family strategies
II. Compare and contrast the individual vs system as the unit of analysis
III. Differentiate the developmental stages of the family (both intact and alternative structures) and analyze whether there has been successful accomplishment of developmental tasks within each phase.
IV. Describe characteristics that support the view of the family as a system.
V. List and describe the principal work of four of the major research teams that contributed to this shift in `identified patient` focus.
