STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
1. Demonstrate correct lead placement and the procedure for obtaining an EKG.
2. Identify the underlying rhythm on a 12-lead EKG.
3. Identify ischemic changes and injury patterns found in acute coronary syndrome.
4. Identify the changes on an EKG from ventricular hypertrophy and atrial enlargement.
5. Determine the axis of different waves on the EKG.
6. Recognize drug and electrolyte effects on the waves on the EKG.
7. Differentiate between ventricular and superventricular tachycardias.
