Course Description: | Teaches the process of creating and submitting bids for landscape construction projects. Plan reading, estimating procedures and the bid submission process are all discussed. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
1. Calculate a material take-off accurately for a scaled plan including sod, fertilizer, edging, compost, retaining wall and paver or concrete patio installation.
2. Calculate a landscape or industry job bid that includes an estimate of materials and labor, subcontractors, overhead recovery, and profit for a range of project sizes and types (i.e. small and large landscape and maintenance).
3. Calculate single, double and multiple overhead recovery systems.
4. Describe the elements of various specifications and contracts between clients and businesses and analyize the qualities of an effective contract.
5. Use numeracy and problem solving skills to solve content related problems (ex. linear, area, volume measurements, pricing based on a unit price, labor estimates and calculations, etc).
