STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
1. Utilize descriptors related to plant stems, bark, leaves, buds, inflorescence, flowers, infrutescence, and fruit to describe a landscape plant.
2. Describe the origin, habitat, and associates of each plant discussed in the class (where applicable or of great importance).
3. Identify at least 80 regionally important broadleaf shrubs and vines from the list of woody plants that may appear on the Colorado Certified Nursery Professional exam.
4. State the normal mature height and spread, flower color, bloom season, and fall color for the plants covered in this class.
5. Describe the growth habit and relative speed of growth for the plants covered in this class.
6. Discuss and explain proper usage and site conditions (including cultural and maintenance concerns (pests, diseases etc.)) for the plants in this class.
