STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
1. Trace the chronology of events that led to the Cold War, develop a Cold War chronology, and synthesize the Cold War’s impact on the present in general
2. Demonstrate knowledge and comprehension as they compare and contrast capitalism and communism and identify the potential merits and detriments of each
3. Demonstrate knowledge as they identify the major events of the space race and arms race during the Cold War.
4. Chronicle and analyze the development of Communism in China.
5. Evaluate and analyze the activities of male and female dissidents, and role, and impact of dissidence on the Cold War in the non-western world.
6. Analyze and evaluate decolonization processes in the non-western world and its impact on the Cold War.
7. Analyze and evaluate the non-alignment and liberation movements throughout the non-western world.
8. Analyze and evaluate a chronology of events in the Middle East as a battlefield of the Cold War.
