Course Description: | Examine ethical issues acquiring knowledge associated with the practice of holistic touch therapies, including: massage therapy, reflexology and other touch modalities. Emphasis will be creating a safe working and healing environment and on addressing healing presence in treatment, professional codes of ethics, scope of practice, levels of safe and appropriate touch, basic psychological and physical dynamics of practitioner/client relationships, confidentiality of client information as well as effective communication with clients and peers. |

1. Examine and understand students’ own personal boundaries.
2. Describe and evaluate professional boundaries and the methods for establishing and maintaining them.
3. Discuss and understand the legal scope of practice for their holistic touch therapy.
4. Interpret and discuss the professional code of ethics and standards of practice for their therapy.
