  Course Description:Demonstrate and perform advanced reflexology techniques. Acquire advanced conceptual content on new information and skill sets about reflexology for hands and feet and introduce anatomy and reflexology of the ear in order to learn the process of describing and applying reflexology protocols for specific issues. Students will assimilate information from previous coursework in order to complete the outline for the final research paper, discuss ethics & business plans and prepare for the reflexology practicum.

 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 1. Explain the concepts of how reflexology works as a CAM therapy on the physical and mental levels to relieve stress.
 2. Discuss the reflex points on the hands and feet and the relationship to specific organs and tissues in the body.
 3. Demonstrate advanced reflexology techniques.
 4. Describe and use basic reflexology protocols for various conditions.
 5. Recognize the applications of reflexology for special populations.
 6. Design and plan appropriate reflexology sessions for homework clients.
 7. Practice writing SOAP Notes documentation for client sessions.
 8. Create individualized weekly self-care plan and program.
 9. Discuss and evaluate reflexology case studies.
 10. Describe advanced anatomy and practice reflexology of the ear.
 11. Construct an outline for their final research paper for reflexology.
 12. Explore the business aspects of reflexology including, licensing, insurance, professionalism and ethics of a professional reflexologist.
 13. Discuss and prepare for the practicum (HHP 288) and working with the public including professional dress, behavior, procedures
     and protocols in the clinical experience.
 14. Provide additional hands-on practice time in class to advance student’s knowledge and skills in client assessment, documentation
        and applied reflexology techniques.
