STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Describe the Western medical model and it`s focus on relief of physical symptoms.
II. Describe the Eastern medical model ( India, China & Japan) and it`s focus on prevention of disease.
III. Compare and contrast advantages and limitations of each.
IV. Describe acupuncture and it`s theoretical basis of energy flows in the body.
V. Describe the theory and use of herbs and homeopathic remedies.
VI. Describe the role of biofeedback in stress management training.
VII. Describe how nutrition and exercise contributes to health
VIII. Describe the role of mindful activities, eg., mediation, self-hypnosis, visualization in buffering the stress response.
