Course Description: | Prepares students to become integrative health/wellness coaching professionals to assist clients in achieving health and lifestyle changes using fitness goals. Teaches how to apply an integrative wellness coaching techniques to the fitness world when working with clients possessing various health conditions and physical abilities. Acquire specific knowledge and skills on how to support and motivate clients who desire to make behavioral and lifestyle changes in order to achieve optimal health. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES
1. Define fitness as it relates to creating and achieving health & wellness goals
2. Compare and contrast the concept of movement with exercise
3. Articulate examples of NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis)
4. Explain the Blue Zones research around movement and its implications for today’s world
5. Apply integrative wellness coaching tools and skills within a fitness focus towards making health, life-style and behavioral changes
6. Demonstrate understanding of safety precautions necessary when working with clients who have chronic health conditions

8. Create a sample fitness routine using the FITT (Frequency- Intensity-Time-Type) principle.
