  Course Description:Describe and examine the use of Reflexology on the hands and feet, where students will learn and apply basic reflexology techniques, anatomy of the hands and feet as well as standard documentation procedures. Provide further training in postural assessment exercises, composure of standard SOAP Notes for documentation and evaluation of case studies. Assess the body-mind connection in the physiological response to stress, learn several Chinese energy meridians and understand application of the major energy chakras.

 STANDARD COMPETENCIES
 
 1. Recognize the benefits and uses of reflexology as a CAM therapy.
 2. Identify body systems and some major reflex areas and points on the hands and feet.
 3. Describe some basic anatomy and physiology of the hands and feet.
 4. Explain contraindications and the student scope of practice.
 5. Practice a complete reflexology session on the hands and feet.
 6. Design and plan and reflexology session for homework clients.
 7. Practice the use of SOAP Notes documentation for client sessions.
 8. Formulate postural assessment exercises for themselves and clients.
 9. Create a weekly self-care program.
 10. Explain and interpret the body-mind connection and
 11. Explain and understand how reflexology can aid in relieving the body’s physiological response to stress.
 12. Describe ways to incorporate energetic boundaries and protection for themselves while working with clients.
 13. Describe and discuss the seven major energetic chakras and their connection to treatment.
 14. Describe basic Chinese energy meridians of the hands and feet.
 15. Discuss, analyze and evaluate reflexology case studies.
