It is based on a holistic approach to understanding the human body and its illnesses, which will be discussed along with the differentiation skills unique to TCM. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
1. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine
2. Review the history of TCM and explore its uses up to present times
3. Understand the basic principles TCM medical theory
4. Investigate a variety of TCM treatment modalities
5. Define the functions of the organs according to TCM
6. Analyze the differentiation of disease according to TCM principles
7. Identify the diagnostic techniques of TCM using tongue and pulse
8. Investigate the use of Microsystems as treatment modalities according to TCM disease theory
9. Learn about the TCM\acupuncture meridians and common acu-point energetic
10. Understand the history and basics of Chinese herbalism and diet

III. Anatomy and functions of the acupuncture meridians and points
IV. Causes of disease
a. Internal causes

V. Diagnostic methods including tongue and pulse diagnosis
VI. Differentiation of disease syndromes
VII. Treatment modalities including: Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Cupping, Tui-Na (massage), Qi Gong, Qigong, Auricular Therapy
VIII. Microsystems,Tai-Qi and Gua Sha
IX. Electrical stimulation, laser acupuncture, color puncture, Acutonics (using tuning forks)
X. Chinese diet and herbal therapies
