  Course Description:Teaches how to perform excavation in confined space, construct an elevated roadway, perform finish work, move large obstacles, perform bulldozing operations on a slope. Includes identifying and repairing drainage problems, stockpiling materials, use of a transit or hand level to create a 3:1 slope, and OSHA, MSHA and industry safety standards.

 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 I.      Inspect (pre-trip) and grease a Bulldozer. The student will be able to determine grade and maintain grade, replace normal wear parts, operate the bulldozer safely and efficiently on uneven terrain. This knowledge will be shown by verbal questions and answers, and a performance test.


 TOPICAL OUTLINE:
 
 I.      Understanding bulldozer and job site safety, soil and weather conditions and how they affect the performance of the dozer
 II.     Perform excavation work in a confined space
 III.    Construct an elevated roadway
 IV.     Perform finish work on road
 V.      Perform bulldozing operations on a slope.
 VI.     Move large obstacles on flat, uneven and sloped surfaces
 VII.    Backhoe and job site safety, trench safety, videos and lecture.
 VIII.   Identify and repair drainage problems on roadway, remove and stabilize large obstacles, create a ramp and stockpile materials
