Course Description: | Focuses on the study of the necessary modifications to convert the standard bolt action into a varmint, bench rest, or match rifle action. Emphasizes the remachining of the main line and lock up areas of the action. These operations create a straight action concentric to its bore. Covers the building and use of specialized tools and fixtures as well as precision barrel fitting. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Discuss the theory behind ¿Blueprinting¿.
II. Demonstrate the procedures and setups for specific Jigs and fixtures.
III. Demonstrate use of measuring tools for assessing runout of actions.
IV. Demonstrate machining of internal locking surfaces.
V. Discuss the operation of internal threading.
VI. Demonstrate internal thread chasing.
VII. Fabricate bolt holding fixture and action mandrel.
VIII. Discuss precision barrel fitting and alteration of recoil lug.
