STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Upon completion of this course students shall demonstrate an understanding of advanced metal engraving skills. Students in this course will consult with the instructor to select projects/tasks that will be completed to the satisfaction of the instructor. Given performance tests, the student will perform these tasks with a score of 75% or better:
A. Explain and/or demonstrate advanced practices in scroll work.
B. Explain and/or demonstrate relief work.
C. Explain and/or demonstrate inlays.
D. Explain and/or demonstrate overlays.
E. Discuss engraving techniques with gold, silver, iron, and alloy.
F. Explain and/or demonstrate animal and game scene techniques.
G. Discuss presentation of engraving.
H. Explain and/or demonstrate final finishes.
