Course Description: | Serves as the second week of the Law Enforcement Armorer course and provides instruction on Smith & Wesson, Glock, SIG, and Beretta semi-auto handguns and Remington, Winchester, and Ithaca pump-action shotguns. Covers parts nomenclature, disassembly and assembly, malfunctions, and parts fitting. Students bring firearms to work on. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Upon completion of this course students shall demonstrate an understanding of armorer¿s skills. Students in this course will consult with the instructor to select projects/tasks that will be completed to the satisfaction of the instructor. Given performance tests, the student will perform these tasks with a score of 75% or better:
A. Discuss armorer¿s skills, tools and techniques required for Smith & Wesson semi-auto handguns.
B. Discuss armorer¿s skills, tools and techniques required for Glock semi-auto handguns.
C. Discuss armorer¿s skills, tools and techniques required for SIG semi-auto handguns.
D. Discuss armorer¿s skills, tools and techniques required for Beretta semi-auto handguns.
E. Discuss armorer¿s skills, tools and techniques required for Remington pump-action shotguns.
F. Discuss armorer¿s skills, tools and techniques required for Winchester pump-action shotguns.
G. Discuss armorer¿s skills, tools and techniques required for Ithaca pump-action shotguns.
H. Explain parts nomenclature.
I. Explain and/or demonstrate disassembly and assembly.
J. Explain and/or demonstrate malfunctions procedures.
K. Explain and/or demonstrate parts fitting.
