STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Upon completion of this course students shall demonstrate an understanding of armorer¿s skills. Students in this course will consult with the instructor to select projects/tasks that will be completed to the satisfaction of the instructor. Given performance tests, the student will perform these tasks with a score of 75% or better:
A. Explain and demonstrate safe firearms handling.
B. Discuss tools necessary for the law enforcement armorer.
C. Demonstrate use of armorer¿s tools.
D. Discuss armorer¿s skills, tools and techniques required for Smith & Wesson Revolvers.
E. Discuss armorer¿s skills, tools and techniques required for Colt Revolvers.
F. Discuss armorer¿s skills, tools and techniques required for Colt M1911.
G. Explain parts nomenclature.
H. Explain and/or demonstrate disassembly and assembly.
I. Explain and/or demonstrate malfunctions procedures.
J. Explain and/or demonstrate parts fitting.
