Course Description: | Provides instruction in the highest quality benchrest and competitive rifle techniques for the truing and lapping of the bolt action. Involves tuning the lug seats in the receiver and on the bolt, turning bolt faces and fitting oversize recoil lugs, and installing Sako type or AR 15 extractors to complete the alteration. Students provide their own action, lugs and extractors. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Upon completion of this course students shall demonstrate an understanding of blueprint bolt actions. Students in this course will consult with the instructor to select projects/tasks that will be completed to the satisfaction of the instructor. Given performance tests, the student will perform these tasks with a score of 75% or better:
A. Explain Truing.
B. Discuss specialized tools.
C. Explain and/or demonstrate receiver indicating techniques.
D. Explain and/or demonstrate turning and truing receivers working surfaces.
E. Explain and/or demonstrate bolt indicating techniques.
F. Explain and/or demonstrate turning the bolts working surfaces.
G. Explain and/or demonstrate altering bolts, Sako type and M16 extractors.
H. Explain and/or demonstrate fitting oversize recoil lugs.
