 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 I.      Upon completion of this course students shall demonstrate an understanding of basic bronze casting and mold making skills.  Students in this course will consult with the instructor to select projects/tasks that will be completed to the satisfaction of the instructor.  Given performance tests, the student will perform these tasks with a score of 75% or better:
         A.      Describe the methods used in art casting.
         B.      Explain the importance of art casting in the creation of the original sculpture.
         C.      Describe the methods used to make a mold.
         D.      Produce a mold.
         E.      Pour a wax replica.
         F.      Explain the method of wax investment in a ceramic shell.
         G.      Produce a wax investment in a ceramic shell.
         H.      Describe the ceramic shell burnout process.
         I.      Burnout a ceramic shell.
         J.      Pour a molten bronze ceramic shell sculpture.
         K.      Chase and clean a bronze casting.
         L.      Patinazate a bronze casting.
