Course Description: | ¿Mr. Single Shot¿ shares forty-seven years experience in gunsmithing single shot rifles such as the Martini Cadet and Winchester High Wall. Covers action preparation, breech block bushings, triggers, safeties, action contouring, and hand polishing. Includes barrel work such as contouring, integral sight ramps, quarter ribs, sling swivels, fitting, chambering, throating, rifling twist rates, and suitable cartridges. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Upon completion of this course students shall demonstrate an understanding of gunsmithing skills. Students in this course will consult with the instructor to select projects/tasks that will be completed to the satisfaction of the instructor. Given performance tests, the student will perform these tasks with a score of 75% or better:
A. Explain and/or demonstrate action preparation.
B. Explain and/or demonstrate gunsmithing of breech block bushings.
C. Explain and/or demonstrate gunsmithing of triggers.
D. Explain and/or demonstrate gunsmithing of safeties.
E. Explain and/or demonstrate action contouring.
F. Explain and/or demonstrate polishing.
G. Explain and/or demonstrate barrel contouring.
H. Explain and/or demonstrate gunsmithing of integral sight ramps.
I. Explain and/or demonstrate gunsmithing of quarter ribs.
J. Explain and/or demonstrate installation of sling swivels.
K. Explain and/or demonstrate fitting.
L. Explain and/or demonstrate chambering.
M. Explain and/or demonstrate throating.
N. Explain rifling twist rates.
O. Discuss suitable cartridges.
