STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Upon completion of this course students shall demonstrate an understanding of takedown lever action rifles. Students in this course will consult with the instructor to select projects/tasks that will be completed to the satisfaction of the instructor. Given performance tests, the student will perform these tasks with a score of 75% or better:
A. Explain custom techniques for single shot rifle stocks.
B. Describe disassembly of lever actions.
C. Remove lip on front receiver and true receiver.
D. Demonstrate making magazine cap.
E. Measure and drill bearing plate.
F. Turn down barrel and install bearing plate.
G. Trim bearing plate for alignment.
H. Fit bearing plate to receiver.
I. Fit mag tube and mag tube lock.
J. Complete student project to the satisfaction of the course Instructor, incorporating techniques demonstrated in class.
