Course Description: | Involves hands-on experience in making sight ramps, quarter ribs, bolt handles, and other custom rifle furniture and accessories, as well as various techniques for milling octagon rifle barrels from a blank. A brief introduction to and demonstration of CNC Machining is included. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Upon completion of this course students shall demonstrate an understanding of machining skills. Students in this course will consult with the instructor to select projects/tasks that will be completed to the satisfaction of the instructor. Given performance tests, the student will perform these tasks with a score of 75% or better:
A. Explain and/or demonstrate production of sight ramps.
B. Explain and/or demonstrate creation of quarter ribs.
C. Explain and/or demonstrate production of bolt handles.
D. Explain and/or demonstrate making custom rifle furniture and accessories.
E. Explain and/or demonstrate milling an octagon barrel from a blank.
F. Explain and/or demonstrate basic operation of a CNC machine.
