Course Description: | Provides an opportunity to learn basic maintenance and repair as well as accuracy modifications on student`s rifles. Includes trigger work, rebarreling, bedding, and stock modifications. Covers law enforcement counter sniper rifles, long range match rifle, and varmint types in both bolt action and M1A/M14 types. Addresses troubleshooting and maintenance of match grade rifles plus initial accuracy work. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Upon completion of this course students shall demonstrate an understanding of gunsmithing skills. Students in this course will consult with the instructor to select projects/tasks that will be completed to the satisfaction of the instructor. Given performance tests, the student will perform these tasks with a score of 75% or better:
A. Explain and/or demonstrate parts fitting.
B. Explain and/or demonstrate accuracy work.
C. Explain and/or demonstrate maintenance and repair techniques.
