  Course Description:Serves as a two-week course that covers precision layout and machining operations applicable to gunsmithing and the manufacture of small parts. Elective evening sessions covering machine shop math and trigonometry are available as needed to aid in the understanding of layout and machine setup.

 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 I.      Upon completion of this course students shall demonstrate an understanding of advanced machining skills.  Students in this course will consult with the instructor to select projects/tasks that will be completed to the satisfaction of the instructor.  Given performance tests, the student will perform these tasks with a score of 75% or better:
         A.      Explain and/or demonstrate precision layout and machining operations.
         B.      Explain and/or demonstrate the manufacture of small parts.
         C.      Explain and/or demonstrate machine shop math and trigonometry
