Course Description: | Serves as a one-week course that includes instruction and hands-on training in metal preparation, hot blueing, nitre blueing, parkerizing, Teflon coating, and coating with Gun Kote. Students supply their own guns or parts to refinish. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Consult with the instructor to select projects/tasks that will be completed to the satisfaction of the instructor.
II. Given performance tests, the student will perform these tasks with a score of 75% or better:
A. Explain and/or demonstrate firearm disassembly.
B. Explain and/or demonstrate metal preparation.
C. Explain and/or demonstrate use of blueing equipment.
D. Explain and/or demonstrate use of blueing chemicals.
E. Explain blueing temperatures.
F. Explain and/or demonstrate hot blueing methods.
G. Explain and/or demonstrate nitre blueing methods.
H. Explain and/or demonstrate parkerizing methods.
I. Explain and/or demonstrate Teflon coating methods.
J. Explain and/or demonstrate Gun Kote process.
