  Course Description:Provides an overview, history and examination of the film comedy genre. A text and some supplemental reading are required; additionally, there will be in-class and supplemental screenings. Students will analyze films from a variety of perspectives; drama, history, culture and film technology. We will examine both style (Farce, Social Satire, Parody, etc.), and performers (Chaplin, Fields, Marx Brothers, etc.), moving chronologically.
