Course Description: | This course is a companion course to the Production III class and will continue to instruct students in advanced techniques in Final Cut Pro
and on the integration of third party software applications. Students will directly apply the techniques from this class to the edit of their
Production III project. Students will complete polished and
professional edits including sophisticated use of sound, titles, and
music in the realization of character, narrative, and thematic goals. |

Assess and apply a professional quality edit and finish to the projects that the students shot in the Production III class.
A. Create a lined script suitable for any editor to understand the coverage of the shoot
B. Create a rough cut suitable for assessment of pacing, timing, character development, and development of story.
C. Create a sound track of professional quality, which should include sound effects, music, and foley sound.
D. Use professional quality color grading software to grade the project on a shot by shot basis after picture lock is achieved.
E. Create a professional compression of the project for use on a DVD.
F. Understand the output to tape procedures for broadcast delivery.
G. Understand the output to file procedures for broadcast delivery.
