STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
1. Demonstrate a knowledge for the elements associated with the organization, management and control of wild land and wildland/urban fires; standards associated with wildland and wildland/urban fires; safety and tactical considerations associated with wildland and wildland/urban fires; training, equipment and resources needed to combat these types of emergencies.
TOPICAL OUTLINE:
I. Students will explain wildland and wildland/urban fire problem.
II. Students will apply command , control and suppression issues associated with wildland and wildland/urban fire problem.
III. Students will describe equipment and resources required for the suppression of wildland and wildland/urban fires.
IV. Students will explain the standards associated with wildland and wildland/urban fire suppression. (NFPA, NWCG and others)
V. Students will define terminology associated with wildland and wildland/urban fire problem.
VI. Students will apply the command structure for managing wildland and wildland/urban fire emergencies.
VII. Students will explain the communications issues associated with wildland and wildland/urban fire problem.
VIII. Students will describe the health and safety issues associated with wildland and wildland/urban fire problem.
