STANDARD COMPETENCIES:

 

  1.   Demonstrate a knowledge for the application of various methods of fire suppression techniques for transportation emergencies, high-rise fires, below-ground fires and emergencies, confined space emergencies and special rescue situations; codes and standards related to the above types of emergencies.

 TOPICAL OUTLINE:

 

 I.      Students will demonstrate a knowledge for fire spread in special situations.

 II.     Students will apply extinguishing methods for high-rise, below-ground and transportation fires.

 III.    Students will explain the types of extinguishing agents and their application in special situations..

 IV.     Students will describe factors associated with incident evaluation and fire ground factors related to high-rise, below-ground, confined space, and transportation emergencies.

 V.      Students will describe factors associated with resource availability and application in high-rise, below-ground, confined space, and transportation emergencies.

 VI.     Students will apply tactical operations as related to high-rise, below-ground, confined space, and transportation emergencies.

 VII.    Students will explain the objectives associated with  confined space rescue operations.

 VIII.   Students will apply methods of incident and resource management.

 IX.     Students will apply fire control and property conservation methods.

 X       Students will explain nationally recognized practices associated with the control and management of high-rise, below-ground, confined space, and transportation emergencies.
