Course Description: | Prepares students for the CPAT test and other related fitness testing for entry level firefighters. The course will focus on aerobics and strength training to assist students in passing a CPAT test or any related fitness entry level test. Students will also be trained on how to use various firefighting tools as they pertain to how the tools will be used in the CPAT or other related entry level fitness test. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Demonstrate the use of all CPAT equipment and fire service tools
II. Describe the reason for each CPAT testing station as it relates to the fire service
III. Increase strength ability through weight training
IV. Increase aerobic ability through running and other aerobic related aerobic based exercises
V. Understand all aspects of the CPAT rules for testing
VI. Understand how diet and physical training are important for the demanding job of a firefighter.
VII. Demonstrate the proper techniques needed to pass the CPAT test
VIII. Learn the safety considerations while performing CPAT
IX. Complete an entry and exit fitness level assessment with an improved overall fitness of 20%
