It is designed for students who have studied two years of the target language in high school and possess linguistic and cultural knowledge that true beginners do not, but are not ready yet to move to the intermediate level because they need an in-depth review of essential structures.

 STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
 
 I.      The student at the novice-mid level should be able to:
         A.      Comprehensively reproduce the pronunciation and intonation of the foreign language.
