Course Description: | Introduces the student to the various components of cabinetmaking. The course will teach the student basic shop drawing, material properties, joinery, and power and stationary tools as related to basic cabinet construction. Cabinet construction and safe and efficient use of machinery and materials are the essential goals of this course. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
1. Demonstrate knowledge of the materials used in the construction of a cabinet.
2. Demonstrate safe and efficient use of the power tools involved in the construction of a cabinet.
3. Read and create shop drawings.
4. Demonstrate knowledge of the hardware available for cabinets.
5. Build and assemble a cabinet.
