STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Link various breeds of horses and horse use to shoe selection.
II. Identify the various uses of horses.
III. Differentiate the anatomy and physiology of the lower leg of various breeds.
IV. Prepare hoofs of various breeds of horses and shoe them accordingly.
V. Practice shoe modifications.
VI. Demonstrate proper selection and use of specialized farrier tools.
VII. Perform normal shoeing.
