I. Demonstrate knowledge of state and federal laws concerning commercial vehicles by scoring 80% or better on written tests.
II. Practice defensive driving maneuvers during operation of commercial vehicles during driving instruction and demonstrate knowledge about defensive driving by scoring 80% or better on written tests.
III. Demonstrate approved driving practices with trucks and trailers, loaded and unloaded, during driving instruction.
IV. Demonstrate general knowledge of driving commercial vehicles and knowledge of selected endorsements for air brakes, combination vehicles, hazardous materials, passenger transport, and school bus by receiving a score of 80% or better on each test administered by the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles for a Colorado CDL Instruction Permit.
