STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Continued to exhibit professional behavior in attitude, actions, appearance and personal hygiene.
II. Utilized patient assessment skills acquired in DEH 102 to plan appropriate preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene services.
III. Followed all infection control policies thereby promoting safety for the health of the operator, patient, and faculty/staff.
IV. Maintained and operated clinical equipment, keeping the clinical area in optimum operative condition.
V. Described and utilized the appropriate technique to maintain sharp, well-shaped instruments
VI. Provided appropriate dental hygiene services to clinical patients based on individual patient needs.
VII. Perform periodontal assessment and accurately record and integrate information into an appropriate treatment plan
VIII. Demonstrate the utilization of advanced instrumentation techniques to include definitive debridement as appropriate on periodontally involved patients.
TOPICAL OUTLINE:
I. Topics depend on patient population at educational site, but do include patient requirements for light, moderate and periodontally involved patients.
