Emphasizes plaque and plaque related diseases and the basic philosophy involved in controlling and/or preventing disease. Addresses the role of the dental hygienist in etiology, epidemiology of disease, primary preventive efforts, oral health education, nutrition and dietary measures, and preventive agents.~ |

I. Define and discuss the differences between primary, secondary, and tertiary preventive dentistry.
