STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Become stronger more flexible, and disciplined through practice.
II. Recognize the relationship of grace and extension to beauty and balance.
III. Respond to and use ballet terminology.
IV. Follow the fundamental exercise routine.
V. Acquire an understanding of ballet skills, including simple pirouettes.
VI. Increase knowledge of bodily alignment in technique.
VII. Recognize the importance of coordinating arm and leg movements.
VIII. Be able to apply elements of line, shape, dynamics, space, and time to movement.
IX. Develop an understanding of the relationship of movement to music.
