Emphasizes `hands-on` records management through the use of simulations, which includes manual and/or computer software. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Describe the management functions necessary to operate a records management program effectively.
II. Identify the three levels of records management positions and common job titles associated with each level.
III. Describe the classification of records used in an office.
IV. Diagram and apply the records cycle¿creation, use, storage, transfer, and disposal.
V. Outline the proper steps to follow in establishing a records management system.
VI. Demonstrate correct filing procedures according to various filing classification methods, their advantages, and their disadvantages processing the records manually and/or with a computerized database.

XI. Describe how various automated records systems are combined into a network of records systems.
