Course Description: | Designed for students who have minimal or no keyboarding skills. Introduces the touch method of keyboarding, as well as the basic operation and functions of the equipment. Emphasizes learning the alphanumeric keyboard, proper technique, and speed control. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
1. Utilize proper typing posture, body position, and eye contact for maximum proficiency at the microcomputer keyboard.
2. Type by touch at a speed of 20 words per minute for 3 minutes with no more than 3 errors.
3. Apply microcomputer operation skills: care of diskettes, powering up the computer, entering data, printing data, and powering down the computer.
