STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Use a plant key to identify unknown grasslike specimens;
II. Describe how basic grasslike groups of plants are related to one another, including characteristics of each group;
III. Identify many grasslike plants on sight to the genus level;
IV. Carry out a variety of plant sampling techniques for purposes of determining plant cover, composition, density, and yield;
V. Perform all calculations necessary in determining those parameters listed in the previous objectives;
VI. Determine range condition and proper stocking rates for a given range.
